Privacy Policy

Play Park, a Harbor Privacy company · Last updated June 30, 2026
The short version: Play Park is built privacy-first for families. No ads. No ad tracking. No accounts needed to play. We never sell your data, and we don't try to figure out who you are.

What we don't collect

What stays on your device

Play Park saves a few things in your browser's local storage: your chosen display name and 3-letter initials, your theme and sound preferences, your game progress and achievements, and whether you have Pro. You can erase all of it any time by clearing your browser's site data. If you are a Pro member, some of these settings are also saved to your account so they can follow you across devices — see Cross-device sync below.

Leaderboards

When you submit a score, we store only your self-chosen 3-letter initials, the score, and a timestamp. That's it — no names, no accounts, nothing that identifies a real person. Initials are passed through a profanity filter.

Analytics

We use self-hosted, cookieless analytics (Umami) to count page views and which games are opened, in aggregate. It sets no cookies, follows you to no other websites, and collects no personal information.

Payments (Play Park Pro)

Pro is an optional one-time purchase handled by Stripe. To process the payment and let you restore Pro on another device, Stripe collects your email and payment details. We store only your email address and a random per-account token (to confirm you're a Pro member and to authenticate restore and sync). We never see or store card numbers. Restore links are emailed to you through our email provider, Resend.

Cross-device sync (Pro members)

If you buy Pro, your saved settings and progress can sync across your devices. To do that we store a small profile on our server, linked to your purchase email: your display name and initials, your theme and sound preferences, your high scores, your achievements, and word-game stats. That is all it contains — no real-world identity beyond your email, no contacts, no location, no browsing history. You can ask us to delete it at any time, and it is covered by our retention policy. Pro members playing on a free family code (no email) are not synced.

Live multiplayer games

When you start a live game (Chess, Checkers, Battleship, Connect 4) with a friend, we briefly store the game's state and a random game code on our server so both players stay in sync. This holds no personal information and is automatically deleted a couple of hours after the game ends.

Cookies

Play Park uses no advertising and no tracking cookies. We set only a few first-party functional cookies to remember your Pro membership on your device, so clearing your browser history doesn't accidentally lock you out of what you paid for. Our analytics remain cookieless.

Children & families (COPPA)

Play Park is family-friendly and is designed to be played without providing any personal information. There are no public profiles, no chat or messaging, and no behavioral advertising. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Pro purchases are intended to be made by a parent or guardian.

Security

Everything is served over HTTPS, and we practice data minimization — the best way to protect data is to not collect it in the first place.

Your choices

Clear your local data any time from your browser settings. To have a leaderboard entry removed, just email us.
